  • Turn on Projector 

  • Use the Epson remote blue power button to turn on the projector. 

  • Please make sure to turn the projector off at the end of your session (push the power button on the remote twice). 

 

  • In-room Computer 

  • Press any key on the keyboard or mouse to wake up the in-room computer. If the computer has been asleep you may need to push another key to take the computer to the log in screen. 

  • Login information for non-Queen's users is posted in the room (please contact QHS IT if a new copy of this information is required). 

 

  • Join a Hybrid Session 

  • From the in-room computer, join a Teams or Zoom call. 

  • The Logitech MeetUp will automatically be connected and will act as a camera, microphone and speaker for the meeting. 

  • There is a small rectangular remote stored beside the MeetUp. You can use this remote to adjust the camera arequired, including panning and zooming. 

 

  • Connect Your Own Laptop 

  • If you need to connect your own laptop, there is an HDMI cord from the projector that you can use. Note: You must provide your own dongle if you need to connect from HDMI to USB-C. 

  • From the EPSON remotepush the Source Search button. The projector will autodetect the next source and switch to your laptop (HDMI). 

  • If you join a hybrid event in the room from your laptop (e.g., to share a document on your laptop in the online call), and the in-room computer is also joined (e.g., to use the room camera and audio from the MeetUp), please make sure to mute the microphone and silence the speakers on your laptop to avoid feedback. 

 

  • Nikon Eclipse Microscope 

  • Only designated individuals should use the microscope. 

  • After rolling the microscope out of the storage closet, plug in the power supply from the microscope to the outlet. 

  • Plug the microscope camera USB cord in to the USB port on the ThinkCentre computer stored on the rolling cart at the front of the room. 

  • From the in-room computer, click on the ToupView application (lefthand side). 

  • From the Camera List in ToupView, click U3CMOS18000KPA. 

  • The microscope image should display. 


  • Trouble Shooting 

  • Projector won’t turn on. 

  • Please check the power cable where it attaches to the projector. It frequently comes loose. 

  • There’s no image from the in-room computer. 

  • From the EPSON remote, push Source Search (top right). This will move the input back to the in-room computer in case it was last used with a laptop. 

  • Can’t log in to the in-room computer. 

  • Double check the password. Note the capital P in pathology. 

  • There is no sound coming from the in-room computer. 

  • Check that Teams or Zoom audio output/speaker is set as Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Logitech MeetUp). 

  • A remote attendee can’t hear anything from the room. 

  • Check that Teams or Zoom microphone is set as Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Logitech MeetUp). 

  • I am a guest at Queen’s and need Wi-Fi access. 

  • Please use the QueensU Guest Wi-Fi account to temporarily access the internet.
