Connecting to QHS Printers

Using this chart below- please find the Printer Name(s) of the printer(s) you wish to add. If you don't see the printer(s) you are looking for here or you are un-sure, please send an email to [email protected] and we will look into this for you.

Windows (PC) Devices:

Open File Explorer and copy \\qu-print-prd.ad.queensu.ca into the navigation bar (making sure to include the "\\")

From here, you will see all the available printers on campus. You can search for specific printers, or even narrow down the list to all QHS printers by typing “QHS” in the search bar.

After locating the printer you wish to add, right click on the the printer (one printer at a time), and click on “Connect…”. This may take several minutes- wait until first printer is successfully added before trying to add a second. If successfully added, it should appear in the list of printers available to you when you go to print from Word or Adobe. If not successful- please contact us via email at [email protected].

Apple Devices:

Unfortunately we don't currently have user-friendly instructions for Apple Devices to connect to printers without QHS IT assistance, but if you can send the following information to [email protected], we can get you connected:

Locate the Printer Name from the list above of the printer(s) you wish to add.
We will need to know which OS your mac is using. To find this out you can select the Apple menu icon in the upper-left corner of your screen, and choose About this Mac. Here you will find your macOS information.

Send us this information and we will arrange a time to connect virtually or in-person to get you connected.
