Panopto - Folder Security/Permissions for Viewing and Downloading

In this article, you will be able to set who can view your videos for a selected folder, and how to restrict download access. 

Please note this article is for a selected folder in your Panopto library, this will not apply the permissions to all the folders in your library.

1. The name of the current folder you are viewing. 
2. Select the “Gear” icon for folder settings (these settings will only apply to the current folder)
3. Select “Share” from the side bar.
4. Select “Change” to change the permission setting for the folder:
   1. Restricted = Manually add NetID users to the folder.
   2. Your Organization (unlisted) = Any Queen’s NetID has access to the video with the exception that they need a link to the folder to view the contents.
   3. Your Organization = Any Queen’s NetID has access to the video and the video may be advertised to other users.
   4. Public (unlisted) = Anyone in the world can access the folder with a link
5. Select “Settings”
6. We highly suggest turning off “Downloads” on most folders (set to “No one”)
