Panopto - Sharing a Video or Folder (Link & Embed Code)

In this article, we will show you how to share a video in several different way.

Please note that you should have your folder security/permissions setup before sharing a video. For more information, please see:  Panopto - Folder Security/Permissions for Viewing and Downloading

How to get to the sharing menu for a selected video or folder

1. Locate the video that is going to be shared.
2. Hover you mouse over the videos thumbnail (video image icon).
3. Select the share button. (#3 is for a video, #3a is for a folder)

This will open the selected videos sharing menu.

(When sharing folders, the step-by-step below are very similar with some options unavailable as they do not apply to folder sharing)

How to share a video with a Link

        4.  Select "Link"

        5.  Copy the linked address.

        6.  Send the link to the recipients.

How to share a video with Embed Code

        7.  Select "Embed"

        8.  De-check "Enable Watch in Panopto"

        9.  Select "Copy Embed Code"

The embed code can now be inputted into Elentra.

How to share a video to an external user (non-QueensU email)

To share a video to an external user, we suggest using OneDrive. The security of OneDrive when sharing a video to an external user is more secure than Panopto.
