Zoom Webinar and Large Meeting Requests

Modified on Tue, Nov 19 at 9:58 AM

Queen's Health Sciences IT holds a license to create the following:

  • Zoom webinars that can support up to 1000 participants
  • Large meetings that can support between 300 and 1000 participants

If you are hosting online or hybrid educational events that need a webinar format or need to accommodate significant numbers, you can request support for this and QHS IT will create a Zoom link that fits your needs.

Note: Individual Zoom accounts licensed through Queen's can accommodate up to 300 participants. This may be sufficient for many of your events.

Request a Webinar or Large Meeting Link

To request a webinar or large meeting link, please email qhsit@queensu.ca and include the follow information:

  1. Date & time of event(s)
  2. Duration of event
  3. Number of expected attendees
  4. Virtual or hybrid event (if hybrid, please include the room location)
  5. Please include a brief description of your event (e.g. department hosting the event, type of participants (residents, faculty), etc.)

Once we receive this basic information, we will determine if the request can be fulfilled by QHSIT and will follow up with some addition questions regarding the requirements for the meeting or webinar (e.g., registration preferences, authentication to join, event hosts, recording preferences, etc.).

Support - What to Expect

Once we know the details of your event, QHS IT will create a Zoom link based on your requirements and send it to you. This link can be distributed to your event attendees.

In addition to creating this link, we can set up a practice session with you so you can try out hosting a webinar or meeting.

If a problem arises during a webinar or meeting, a QHS IT team member will be available for phone support. Our hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 4:00pm and the phone number is (613) 533-6909.
