Reminder: Beginning in winter 2025, users will be required to login to shared computers with their Queen's NetID in QHS IT-supported rooms.

There are different ways to start or join a Zoom meeting when using a shared computer in a QHS space (e.g., small group room, lecture theatre, conference room).

Use Zoom Desktop Application (Recommended)

  1. Log in to the shared computer using your Queen's NetID.
  2. Look for the Zoom icon on the desktop or search for it from the taskbar (usually in the bottom left).
  3. Log into your Zoom account using your Queen's NetID.
  4. Once logged in to Zoom, click Join to enter a meeting id and password as previously provided to you by the meeting host, or start a meeting displaying in your account. (If you do not see "Join Meeting", select "More" at the top of the Zoom window and then select "Home".)

Access Zoom through a Browser

  1. Log in to the shared computer using your Queen's NetID.
  2. Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome or Edge) and go to https://queensu.zoom.us/.
  3. Log in to your Zoom account using your Queen's NetID and password.
  4. Once logged into Zoom, on the left side of the Zoom page, select "Meetings".
  5. Hover the mouse over the meeting you would like to start and select "Start".
  6. If no meetings display, click Join (top right) and you'll be prompted to enter a meeting ID and password.
  7. The Zoom application on the shared computer will open and will connect you to your meeting.

Use a Zoom Link to Join a Meeting

  1. Log in to the shared computer using your Queen's NetID.
  2. Optionally access Outlook from queensu.ca > Sign In to open your email or calendar.
  3. If someone has shared a meeting link with you via email, click on or copy that link into a web browser on the shared computer.
    1. A confirmation window may be presented asking to launch the Zoom application on the computer. Please allow.
  4. The Zoom application will open on the shared computer and will connect you to your meeting.
