Overview of Rotation Scheduling in the Clinical Experience Module

Modified on Fri, Oct 11 at 3:16 PM

The rotation scheduler in Elentra allows a course/program to create an annual schedule, populate it with multiple rotations (i.e., different experiences), and schedule learners into rotations. When scheduling learners into rotations, administrators can define where the learner will physically be, what service they will be on, and who the preceptor will be (this is optional).

Advantages of using the rotation scheduler are that courses/programs can automate rotation evaluations and preceptor evaluations through the rotation schedule. Elentra's Assessment and Evaluation module can also leverage the rotation schedule to send tasks out according to the rotation schedule.

Multiple program staff can access a rotation schedule as neeed.

Learners can view their rotation schedule from their Elentra dashboard.

The general steps to create a rotation schedule are:

  1. Create a rotation schedule.
  2. Populate the rotation schedule with rotations.
    1. Optionally enable automated rotation and preceptor evaluations (per rotation).
  3. Book learners into the schedule by defining rotation, location(s) and service; optionally include a preceptor in the booking.
    1. This can be done through a csv import or by clicking through the user interface.
  4. Publish your rotation schedule to make it visible to learners.
